Sapienza University of Rome, founded in 1303 by Pope Boniface VIII, is one of the oldest universities in the world and the largest university in Europe. It manages an impressive community of students and staff: approximately 122,000 enrolled students, including nearly 10,000 international students, and over 3,500 academic staff plus more than 3,500 administrative and technical personnel.
Sapienza offers a vast array of academic courses: around 309 degree programmes at Bachelor’s and Master’s level (of which over 66 are entirely taught in English), nearly 200 advanced professional courses, over 95 PhD programmes, and 87 Specialization Schools.
The university comprises 11 faculties covering all major scientific and social areas with a rich network of departments and research centres.
