The University of Hradec Králové is a public higher education institution and one of the leading educational and research centres in the East Bohemia region. Its origins date back to 1959, and it has borne its current name since 2000. Today, the university educates around 6,500 students at four faculties: the Faculty of Education, the Faculty of Informatics and Management, the Faculty of Science, and the Philosophical Faculty.
