The University of the Aegean is a public university with campuses across six Greek islands. Its Department of Product and Systems Design Engineering, based in Syros, was founded in 2000 as Greece’s first Design Engineering department. It offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral studies and conducts research on the integrated design of products, systems and services. Its interdisciplinary approach brings together engineering, the arts, social sciences and digital technologies. Teaching and research cover product and industrial design, interaction and service design, human-centred and participatory design, social innovation and sustainability. The Department collaborates with academic and research partners in Greece and internationally.
