Sol Plaatje University (SPU) was founded in 2014 as the first of two new universities established in post-apartheid South Africa. It is also the first university to be established in the Northern Cape Province. Currently, SPU offers a variety of qualifications across five schools - the School of Humanities, the School of Economic and Management Sciences, the School of Natural and Applied Sciences, and the School of Education.
