The European project entitled GrEnFin – Greening Energy Market and Finance was promoted by the Dept of Economics of the University of Bologna.
The project aims at training university students of economics, finance and engineering on the taking into account of sustainability issues in the provision of energy.
The teaching contents are developed in cooperation between university lecturers and experts and managers working in companies operating in the field of green finance.

Project Title
Greening Energy Market and Finance
Context
The development towards sustainability and resource efficiency of the Energy Sector is fundamental for meeting the EU2030 climate and energy targets and align the EU to the Paris Agreement. To support this process, training professionals in the energy sector as well as creating, supporting and developing a long-lasting network among energy providers, private companies and universities is crucial.
Objectives
GrEnFin is mainly committed to face the new chakkenges of a transforming world with an inclusive global view by:
- Contributing to the decarbonizing process of the EU economy through investment in knowledge and competences for either high education and professional training in the Energy Sector.
- Designing an innovative and interdisciplinary European approach and framework to educate the "hero of the green economy".
- Developing and consolidating a long-lasting network and cooperation among industries and academia in the Energy Sector.
- Disseminating the best practices to address energy cross-border challenges in view of a sustainable development of the EU.

- A Joint Master Degree in Green Energy and Finance targeting university students
- Professional Modules to train companies’ staff and experts already active in the labor market - - The organization of two 2 Summer Schools on green energy finance.
