The European project Alcmaeon is addressed to medicine university lecturers. It aims at bridging the gap between clinical practice and medical humanities

Description:

Alcmaeon is a European project promoted by the European University of Madrid. The project is addressed to university lecturers of History of Medicine. The aim of the project is to provide them with an online, multimedia based, programme for teaching specific subjects related to the History of Medicine to undergraduate students. The programme is integrated with a collection of teaching materials that has been reviewed by experts, on videos interviews with experts. As a further integration to the educational programme, a transnational mapping of existing courses on History of Medicine was developed providing all relevant information on each of the identified courses (e.g. Number of hours, ECTS credits, methodologies, lecturers etc.). Furthermore, a collection of digital objects relevant for history of medicine is made available.
