The University of Genoa (UNIGE) is one of the most ancient large universities in Europe; with approximately 135 degree programmes distributed across its main campus in Genoa and its campuses in Imperia, Savona and La Spezia, it represents a well-established academic presence throughout the Liguria region. With more than 31,900 students enrolled in Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programmes, including over 3,500 international students, and more than 1,200 professors and researchers, UNIGE provides a comprehensive and multidisciplinary teaching offer. The University offers around 135 Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programmes, 7 long single-cycle degree programmes, 28 PhD courses, as well as numerous postgraduate Master’s programmes and Specialisation Schools, according to the most recent Strategic Plan data.
UNIGE actively participates in European and international programmes, having taken part in numerous FP7 and Horizon 2020 projects as either participant or coordinator, and currently engaging in many international research and mobility initiatives. The existing international cooperation concerns both research and teaching activities, with numerous scientific bilateral and multilateral agreements and European Union-funded projects. The list of European and international projects in which the University of Genoa is involved, including Horizon and Erasmus projects, is available on the official international and research pages of the University.
