The European project entitled CORRIGE – Tools to Detect and Mitigate Writing Errors in Secondary Schools was written and coordinated by the project applicant, Alteritas – Interazione tra i popoli based in Verona (Italy). Pixel is involved as external evaluator. The project was funded by the European Commission in the framework of the Erasmus+ Programme, KA2 - Cooperation Partnerships in School Education. The project aims to provide secondary school students and their teachers with informal digital tools that can be incorporated into school practice to improve written language performance by reducing writing errors. This reduces the risk of early school leaving and difficulties entering tertiary education or the world of work.

Project Title

Tools to Detect and Mitigate Writing Errors in Secondary Schools

Objectives

- offer the secondary school world (teachers and students) agile and informal tools to identify various types of difficulties with the written language of students through the production of the CORRIGE Atlas of Writing Errors and a Self-Assessment Tool;
- provide students with skills to reduce difficulties with the written language to face the school curriculum with enhanced self-esteem;
- reduce, using a deeper acquisition of the basic skill of the written language, the chances of frustration and consequent dropping out of school;
- provide teachers with training on the subject of the written language that, together with the tools provided by the project, enables them to tackle the problem of writing errors with new perspectives and results.
